Osteopathy

“The first and only effect of life is motion, in front of effects we face function. Osteopathy doesn’t treat disease, its aim is to re-establish normal function.” -DO. Steve Porter

MY Osteopathy

A.T Still, founder of osteopathy, had a keen interest for bones, he therefore named his new healing art ‘Osteopathy’. He believed it all started in the bones, but osteopathy is a healing art which goes beyond the bones. Still was an anatomist, a failed Dr. determined to find health, and very influenced by the Shawnee Indians, around whom he worked, and learnt a great deal.

My Osteopathy looks for motion, since motion means life and where there is no motion, there is stagnancy, stasis, inflammation, dis-comfort, dis-ease and usually pain. The body tells a story, each one of us has an individual body map and it speaks. My Osteopathy listens to your body map and helps you regain the motion once lost.

Some of the things which lead to lost motion include; scar tissue, injuries, surgeries, births, car accidents, toxicity in the environment, stress, toxic relationships, organ distress, diet, and undigested emotional trauma.
